Born in Rochester, NY Paul Allen Taylor is a self-taught watercolorist recognized for his fresh use of color and impressionistic style. As a respected teacher and workshop instructor, Taylor has developed a following where students find him engaging, highly skilled, and entertaining.

Working in his small but comfortable studio attached to his home, Taylor also likes to try his hand in acrylics and oils. Buyers visit him by appointment to view new works or his collection of nearly one hundred self-published prints and original art. Besides the St. Lawrence River, you will find paintings from Cape Cod, the Adirondack Mountains, and the Chesapeake Bay among other places. The common denominator in all of these is the artist's connection to the water, boats, and life along the shore. His childhood days on the St. Lawrence River are reflected in his paintings as it has become his primary subject. Antique wooden boats, quiet passages through the islands, lighthouses, evening sunsets, and the Great Lakes freighters present unlimited references and inspiration. To him, there is no place like it on earth.
