My inspiration comes from my surroundings; in particular the woodlands and waterways of Northern New York and Coastal Delaware. 

I love working with color. I am not concerned with capturing the true color of an object for that will change with light, darkness or atmosphere, but with using color to convey depth and form and emotion. It is the emotional engagement of artist and viewer that I strive for.

Inspiration may come from the sunlight on the dunes or the quiet stillness of a North Country lake with the shimmer of light and color dancing upon it.

Other times inspiration comes from the merge of heart and mind in an image only the artist can create and the viewer can interpret. Color is the conduit connecting artist to emotion, and emotion to viewer.
